Small soybean pest makes its way to NWMO


ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - A pest that causes soybean crop growth to be stunted has recently made its way into the area.

University of Missouri Extension Office Agronomy Field Specialist Wayne Flanary told KXCV/KRNW that the soybean gall midge is a small pest.

Flanary urges area growers to keep an eye on the edges of their soybean fields for the pest that has emerged in northwest Missouri.

He asked growers to contact the extension office if they come across signs of the pest.
